Heart Based Leadership - Heart Based Living
One of my favorite all time topics is Leadership!
Divinely privileged by a previous position I performed as a Supervisor in Chambers Club Lounge at St. Pancras Renaissance, London it was brought to my awareness a whole new type of management called Leadership. On top of that I also had the privilege to "feel" what Heart Based Leadership is and I am pleased to describe it as follows:
Heart-based leadership is the ability of an individual to inspire loyalty and build powerful relationships by being kind, caring, and courageous – virtually by leading from the heart or otherwise said: having the wisdom, courage and compassion to lead others with authenticity, transparency, humility and service. Anyone can be a heart-centered leader if he or she has the determination and daily commitment to practice certain core principles.
Consider Five Core Principles at the Heart of Leadership:
- Having inner reflection, committed to personal and professional growth.
- Being a leader to your staff, and a servant to your clients.
- Reacting with less judgment, and approaching situations with more trust.
- Being open to those tenderhearted moments, showing compassion, empathy and loving kindness
- Supporting a team by listening and building a team with inspiring effective communication and heart opening
Why is the heart important in leadership?
Emotions represent the “heart” in the Head + Hands + Heart equation of leadership. It's where leaders demonstrate that they care about and can connect with others. The emotions of individuals can either activate and motivate the team, or move them to disassociate from the goal and passively comply.
Heart-Leadership is grounded in the eight heart qualities of love, gratitude, appreciation, care, happiness, compassion, harmony and kindness.
I strongly believe that the more we embody Heart Leadership, the faster we create Heaven on Earth to be our every NOW reality!
It all starts and begins with taking responsibility for our hearts and let it guide us further!
This post is entirely dedicated to the best manager I had the pleasure to meet and work with, Dan! Thank you for leading from the heart and setting the example for a perfect workplace!
